About

Hello, I'm Amelia, the printmaker behind The Printed Block.
The Printed Block is my small creative studio, rooted in traditional Indian woodblock printing and a love of thoughtful, handmade design.
Inspired by the rich heritage of this centuries-old craft, I create handprinted textiles and paper goods using hand-carved wooden blocks. Every piece is individually printed, embracing the subtle variations that make handmade work so distinctive.
Alongside creating my collections, I lead small-group, artist-led workshops across the Welsh Borders and surround counties, sharing the traditional techniques of Indian woodblock printing in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Whether you’re discovering woodblock printing for the first time or looking to develop your skills, my aim is to help you enjoy the process, build confidence and leave with something you’ll be proud to have made.
The Printed Block celebrates craftsmanship, creativity and the enduring beauty of traditional Indian woodblock printing. I hope my work inspires you to bring a little of that tradition into your home or to experience it for yourself through one of my workshops.
Alongside The Printed Block, I continue my wider printmaking practice. In 2025, I was selected as a pod artist for Series 11 of Sky Arts' Landscape Artist of the Year, which was broadcast in 2026. My work continues to explore traditional printmaking techniques and a love of handcrafted design.
Whether you're joining a workshop or choosing a handcrafted piece for your home, I hope The Printed Block inspires you to discover the beauty of traditional Indian woodblock printing.
