New Workshop Venue in Shrewsbury — English Bridge Studios

I’m really pleased to be bringing The Printed Block workshops to a new venue in Shrewsbury — English Bridge Studios.

Having already been running workshops in Llanymynech, Oswestry and Welshpool, it feels like the right time to expand into Shrewsbury — reaching a wider audience while keeping the same small-group, considered approach.

Set just a short walk from the centre of town, English Bridge Studios is a calm, light-filled space — the kind of place where you can properly settle into the process.

What to expect

These workshops are centred around traditional Indian woodblock printing — a process that’s both simple to begin with and quietly absorbing once you get going.

You’ll be guided through:

building pattern using hand-carved wooden blocks
working with colour and layering
developing your own designs in a relaxed, supportive setting

Workshops are kept intentionally small, so there’s time to slow down, experiment, and enjoy the process.

All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with your own handprinted pieces.

Dates at English Bridge Studios

To begin with, I’ve booked two dates:

Saturday 27th June
Wednesday 22nd July

These initial sessions will help shape what works best in Shrewsbury — whether that’s weekends, weekdays, or a mix of both.

Looking ahead

The aim is to build a regular rhythm of workshops in Shrewsbury, alongside Llanymynech, Oswestry and Welshpool, and other venues across Shropshire and the borders.

As always, the focus will remain the same — calm, creative, and accessible workshops, with an emphasis on sharing the process behind traditional block printing.
